In what was an exciting start to the 2022 PBL Season with fans filling the stands at the DuBois Area Middle School, the visiting Detroit Panther used tough defense and a relentless attack on the fastbreak to take down the DuBois Dream in their home opener, 109-84. Detroit caught fire early in the first quarter to jump out to a big lead and never took their foot off the gas. Jason Williams led the balanced Panthers attack with 17 points.
The DuBois Dream showed flashes of great team chemistry and an ability to shoot the long ball as they played the Panthers even in the second half. Tony Acrie led the Dream with 21 points and 16 rebounds, followed by Albert Varacallo III with 15 points and 5 rebounds, and Demetrius Davis with 13 points. The Dream is back in action this Saturday, January 22nd, in Lancaster before coming back home on January 29th to take on the Shoreline Wolves.
