We’re two games into the PBL regular season, and the DuBois Dream are off to a rough start in the win-loss column. Last Saturday the Dream faced off against a balanced Lancaster Thunder team for their first road game of the 2022 PBL Season. It was a back-and-forth contest throughout the first half, but it all came crashing down when the Thunder ran away with a huge lead in the second half due to second chance and fast break points, as they ended up defeating the Dream giving them their second loss of the season.
I had the chance to interview Coach Tanner on the rough start, and his advice he would give to his team moving forward was, “We’re lacking enthusiasm for the game, especially the first game where we weren’t ready at all. Moving forward we must get better on both sides of the ball on offense and defense. More importantly, we must adjust on the fly moving forward through communication. We have to hold ourselves accountable so we can come together as a team and make it work”.
I believe the Dream will turn this around on Saturday at 7pm at the DuBois Area Middle School against the Shoreline Wolves who are off to a hot start with a 2-0 record heading into the game. Some players to watch in this game are Tony Arcie, who is the Dream’s leading scorer (19.5 PPG) and rebounder (14.5 RPG), Albert Varacallo III (16.5 PPG), as well as the newest roster additions of Chucky Humphries (IUP/Overseas Pro) and Juwan Willis (Point Park/Overseas Pro). The Shoreline Wolves are led by Demetrius Lake (28 PPG) and Willis Lee (21 PPG), as well as Adrian Cobb (PBL Player of the Week – Week 1), Wayne Barfield (16 RPG) and Bryson Chandler (7 APG).
It is still early in the season and I believe the Dream will snap out of their losing streak with full confidence.
For tickets to Saturday’s game make sure you purchase them online here or at the doors when they open at 6pm.
