As the winter basketball season begins, we wanted to highlight and spotlight some of our past, current and future DuBois Dream AAU & Youth Basketball Club players’ accomplishments as well as what they are most looking forward to this upcoming season. Check out what some of them had to say:
Danny Lauer | Grade 12 | School: Brookville Area High School – Awards: 2020-21 PIAA 3A State Runner-Up, 3x District 9 Champion, 3x District 9/5 Sub-Regional Champion, 2020-21 Courier Express All District 9 Team. Danny is looking forward to playing with his team and he strives to be a great player and teammate.
Griffin Ruhlman | Grade 12 | School: Brookville Area High School – Named to District 9 Preseason All-district Boys’ basketball team. Hoping for a repeat state run and looking forward to working hard and playing in college next year.
Charlie Breindel | Grade 12 | School: Elk County Catholic High School – As a senior, there is no more next year, so I am extremely excited to start my last, first game on my home court. It is all a countdown game from there on out, but, as I am taught, it’s what we do in that countdown time that we will have forever. Last year didn’t end the way we wanted it to and I feel that chip on my shoulder. As exciting as individual rewards are, I am more excited to execute our team goals out. We set our goals high this year and it is going to be really exciting when we reach them! Something that I have been waiting for since my sophomore year is the fans. Last year was very difficult not having people in the stands and I am super excited to have a packed gym!
Parks Ordiway | Grade 11 | School: Warren Area High School – Awards: Second Team All-Region (4A League), Fourth leading scorer in Region at 13.6 PPG, 48% 3-PT% (67 made 3’s), Team record 17-6. Parks is a multi-sport athlete, as he has earned 2-time All-District 10 in soccer and he has 67 goals and 39 assists in his career. He is looking forward to competing for a District Championship in basketball this season.
Pierson Ruhlman | Grade 10 | School: Brookville Area High School – Looking forward to playing on the same team as his big brother, and contributing to get to the state championship again.
Zayden Jordan | Grade 9 | School: Brookville Area High School – Zayden is looking forward to seeing how all his off season work pays off for him this season.
Wyatt & Jesse Lucas | Grade: 9 | School: Brookville Area High School – Wyatt and Jesse are hoping to hone the shooting skills they learned from Coach Rick over the summer, and making the most of a very tough upcoming schedule. They are looking forward to meeting players from bigger schools and hopefully taking their game up a notch!
Brooke Young | Grade 9 | School: Punxsutawney Area High School – Looking forward to improving as a player and contributing to the team this season.
Adam Manners | Grade 8 | School: Punxsutawney Area Junior High School – Adam participates in football, basketball, track and field, DuBois Dream Basketball, and AIT offseason football. In the classroom, he is a high honor student and is a member of the National Honor Society at his school.
Saige Nelson | Grade 8 | School: DuBois Area Middle School – Saige took huge steps this past season and continues to grow and develop as a player. She is looking forward to improving her skills and playing hard on the court this Spring/Summer.
Sydney Murdock | Grade 7 | School: Brookville Area School District – I’m looking forward to meeting new people and learning new skills. I’m an aggressive player and have a lot of speed. However, since I am smaller than many of the players on my team, I’ve gotta work on compensating for that. I want to learn ways to use my speed, agility and aggressiveness to get past that obstacle the I can’t control. I know I’m a hard worker and have a really positive attitude. I just need more time on the court!
Oliver Butcher | Grade 7 | School: Brookville Area Junior High School – Awards: 2019 MVP Clarion Boy Basketball Camp. Oliver is looking forward to improving his skills and grow as a team.
Jacob Ruffner | Grade 7 | School: Elk County Catholic – Jacob is looking forward to working on his left-hand game.

They play against each other during the regular school season. Chase is also looking forward to playing in the Spooky Nook tourney during the Spring travel season.
Evan Presloid | Grade 7 | School: Punxsutawney Area Junior High School – Evan is playing up a grade level this Season on the 8th grade team! He is looking forward to getting back to playing basketball and getting a chance to play AAU with his friends from other schools.
Derek Pannette | Grade 7 | School: DuBois Area Middle School – He has played basketball since 3rd grade in the DuBois Intramural Program, the YMCA league, and then last Spring with the DuBois Dream Basketball Club AAU Team. Derek has been putting in the hard work at practice to be an asset to his team.
