On Saturday, April 16th, Albert Varacallo III, Juwan Willis and Tony Acrie made their way to Lancaster, Ohio, for the 2022 PBL All-Star Game. Each player was selected by the League after having stellar PBL Seasons and did not disappoint during the All-Star Game festivities.
After leading the division in 3 Pointers Made, Albert Varacallo III was chosen to participate in the All-Star 3-Point Contest. Varacallo finished in second place in the first round and moved on to the finals to face Lancaster’s own, Cam Miller. In a tightly contested finals, Varacallo was able to defeat Miller and bring home the 2022 PBL All-Star 3-Point Contest Championship to DuBois.
Following the 3-Point Contest the trio of Acrie, Varacallo and Willis participated in the East vs. Midwest All-Star Game. Acrie was a force down low showing why he led the League in rebounds per game, while Varacallo splashed in some threes, but the star of the game was Juwan Willis. Willis led the East in scoring and carried them to a victory by a margin of 114-110. He brought the crowd to their feet with multiple highlights and was named the 2022 PBL All-Star Game MVP.
With the All-Star Game finished, the DuBois Dream PBL team wrap up their 2022 PBL Season and set their sights on AAU and 3×3 this spring and summer.
