The DuBois Dream returned to the court last Saturday for the second Premier Basketball League Showcase in Erie, Pennsylvania. The Dream played only one game this time around, facing off against the Roc City Lions.

Both DuBois and Roc City entered the contest with 1-2 records, and were looking for an opportunity to get to .500 on the season. Early in the game, it appeared as though it was advantage DuBois, as the Dream forged a 22-18 edge in the first quarter.

Roc City, however, came out with a strong answer in the second quarter, scoring the first four points of the frame to tie things up. The Lions turned that fast start to the quarter into take a 31-25 lead with about three minutes to play, but a 6-0 run by the Dream resulted in another tie. Roc City ended up with a three point lead at the half.

The second half was close early, with the Dream trailing, but staying within reach, but the Lions pulled away as play went on. DuBois trailed 64-55 at the end of the third, and ultimately lost the game 87-72 to fall to 1-3 on the season. Albert Varacallo, III and Tony Acrie put in solid performances for the Dream to earn All-Showcase honors.

With the second PBL Showcase now in the rearview mirror, the Dream will shift its focus to games in DuBois for the first time in the 2021 season. The home schedule will begin on March 6, with an encore set for March 13. The events on March 6 will begin with a youth camp from 10 AM until noon. As shown in the graphic below, all participating kids will be given two tickets to the game, which will tip-off around 2 PM.

If you are interested in signing your child up for the camp on March 6, you can do so by clicking on the link here. Space for the camp is very limited, though, so act quickly.

In the game to follow, the Dream will welcome the Lancaster Thunder to DuBois. The contest will take place at the DuBois Christian School, and while the details will continue to be ironed out in the next week and a half, the team and the organization is extremely excited to have a home game in sight. The March 13 game will bring the Chautauqua Hurricane to town.
