After a fun filled morning and afternoon of AAU & youth basketball practices, it was time for the Dream to make its highly anticipated return to the court in front a packed house at the brand new Pfingstler Fieldhouse. The DuBois Dream played host to a familiar charity exhibition game foe in Timothy Edwardz United from New York in a tightly contested matchup in the first quarter, before the Dream busted the game open in the final three frames tallying 110 points in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarters combined en route to a 138-85 victory.
Juwan Willis and Chance Wright put up 23 points a piece for the Dream, while Tony Acrie had his usual double-double putting together an insane stat line hauling in 31 rebounds and scoring 15 points. The biggest surprise of the night came from the youngest additions on the Dream as Connor Marshall (27 points and 15 rebounds) and August Franzen (15 points and 3 assists) from the DuBois Dream AAU & Youth Basketball Club both had themselves a night, entertaining the crowd and showing they belong at the next level. Connor Holobinko rounded out the double digit scoring and had a double-double as well dropping 10 points and grabbing 13 rebounds.
TEU was led by Kyle Sekelsky with 22 points and 10 rebounds, followed by Danny Torres (21 points and 5 assists) and Jules Jenkins (16 points and 8 rebounds).
The DuBois Dream will now turn its focus to its AAU & Youth Basketball Club as they begin their spring and summer tournament schedule this Saturday in Pittsburgh, while the minor league team eyes its next opponent over the next few months in preparation for their own summer tournament schedule.
