The DuBois Dream is excited to get Season 4 started off on the right foot as they host their upcoming Pro Tryout (November 9) and AAU & Youth Basketball Tryout (November 10) at DuBois Christian Schools next month. After two previous successful Minor League Basketball Seasons in the North American Basketball League, the DuBois Dream will be taking it back to where it all began in Season 1 as they re-enter the Premier Basketball League. The PBL has long been known as the League “just below the G-League” as far as organizations, competition and structure is concerned in the United States and this Season is shaping up to be no different.
With familiar PBL foes like the Chautauqua Hurricane and Rochester Razorsharks joining them, the League will be bolstered by former NABL powerhouses, the Lancaster Thunder and the Kentucky Enforcers. “This League is going to be top notch on and off the court,” stated DuBois Dream Owner/Player Albert Varacallo III. “Each team in this League has a proven track record of acting professional, respectable, and following through with their team and schedule obligations.” Varacallo continued, “It is difficult to find a League sometimes where you know the Teams and Owners are going to show up and bring their A-Game on any given night, but I really feel like this group of Teams is going to do some big things for the Minor League Basketball Stage in the US.”
In order to find the talent to help the Dream compete for a PBL Championship this Season, they will be attending the PBL Tryout in Erie on October 26th, before coming back home to host their own Tryout on November 9th for all interested players. “We are looking for the right type of talent and players this season. Similar to finding the right Teams in different Leagues it is sometimes difficult to find Players who have that combination of talent and who want to help out kids and the community, but I am confident we will find them, and that the right Players will come along once they see the League and the Product we are putting out there this Season.”
As always the Dream will have more in their sights than just winning a PBL Championship, as they will be hosting their AAU & Youth Basketball Tryouts and Signups on November 10th, one day after their Pro Tryout. “It is really important that we continue to grow our Dream Organization from the ground up,” Varacallo said. “The youth in our community are awesome and have done nothing but support our Dream, so we could not be more excited to give back and help them learn the game of basketball, as well as take our Teams to the next level!”. This AAU Season, the Dream plan to roll out multiple teams at the 12U, 14U, and 16U Level (Boys and Girls), but also put together an Elite Team to play in National Qualifying Tournaments.
When asked about the Pro and Youth Teams and the plans moving forward Varacallo said, “The plan is to merge the Teams and Organizations together in a gym we can call our own. This year, to help move that process along even more, we will have our High School and Elite Team practicing with our Pro Team to help further their development and get them ready for the next level, while also preparing our Organization for the future.”
There is no doubt that there are some exciting things to come for the Dream Organization in Season 4 and the very near future.
