RECAP

Great weather and great basketball was exactly how we wanted to finish our fourth and final Qualifying Tournament of our Tournament of Champions last weekend. Three new teams punched their ticket into the Finals on Sunday, while three others solidified a bye in the Finals with their second Qualifying Tournament Championship. The Round 4 Qualifying Tournament of Champions Winners were:

3rd-5th Grade: Basketbrawlers – Players: Elijah Glunt, Easton Maines, Avery Schenck

6th-8th Grade Girls: Chihuahuas – Players: Marina Hanes, Emma Elensky, Hope Jacob

6th-8th Grade Boys: We Gonna Lose – Players: Wyatt Lucas, Kellan Haines, Zayden Jordan, Hunter Whitlatch

High School Boys: Feliz Suicidarse – Players: Nick humble, Andrew young, Gabe kengersky, Jaugar McDivitt

Open Women’s: Double Dribble – Players: Faith Jacob, Alexas Pfeufer, Rylee Werner

Open Men’s: Razorsharks Blue – Players: Rashard McGill, Corey Allmond, Sherrod Harris

Open Women’s: Chicken Noodle Hoopers, Double Dribble, Pfingsnelleros

Open Men’s: Carol Basket, Razorsharks Blue, Team Johnstown

For our Tournament of Champions Finals we will be having an adjusted schedule to accommodate as many players and teams with their conflicts. The schedule will be as follows:

FINALS – SCHEDULE

High School Boys: Check-In – 11:30am | Games – 12:00pm

Open Men’s: Check-In – 11:30am | Games – 12:00pm

6th-8th Grade Girls: Check-In – 12:30pm | Games 1:00pm

6th-8th Grade Boys: Check-In – 1:30pm | Games 2:00pm

3rd-5th Grade: Check-In – 2:30pm | Games 3:00pm

Open Women’s: Check-In – 2:30pm | Games 3:00pm

Game Rules

Initial Possession – Coin flip

Scoring (*Court Moderator) – 

3rd-5th Grade – Games will be played to 5 (1 point and 2 points, if scored behind the arc) | 5 minute playing time limit per game

6th-8th Grade – Games will be played to 7 (1 point and 2 points, if scored behind the arc) | 6 minute playing time limit per game

High School and Open Women’s/Men’s – Games will be played to 9 (1 point and 2 points, if scored behind the arc) | 8 minute playing time limit per game

*Overtime (*Updated) – 

3rd-5th Grade and 6th-8th Grade: Free Throw Sudden Death (*Each Team picks a player to shoot a Free Throw for the win)

High School Boys, Open Women’s and Open Men’s: first team to score (*Coin flip for possession)

Free-Throws – 1 FT and 2 FT’s, if fouled behind the arc

Fouls – Players call own (*Court Moderator will handle disputes) | 5 Team Fouls (1 FT) and 7+ Team Fouls (2 FT’s) | Technical Foul (*Court Moderator Decision) – 1 FT + Possession

Check-ball is LIVE after Score/Dead Ball Change of Possession

Defensive Rebound AND/OR Change of Possession – Ball Must Be Taken Behind The Arc Before Scoring

Substitutions – In dead ball situations, prior to the check-ball

*Court Moderator will oversee games and be the final decision maker in disputes | *Rules are subject to change based on games and delays

Health and Safety

It will be impossible for players to social distance during the Tournament games, however it is highly recommended to keep 6 feet apart between players/fans/workers before and after games. 

Non-Active Players (not playing in the games scheduled) and Fans are not permitted inside of the fence.

Hand Sanitizing Station will be available at the entrance of the outdoor court.

Cleaning Wipes will be made available at every hoop to clean the basketball before and after games.

Masks are recommended (*Update: they are now required to be worn in all public spaces) to be worn when possible before and after games.
